Volunteering

Volunteering

Volunteers make a vital contribution to the work of St Petroc’s and we value their ideas, energy, enthusiasm and the time they spend working alongside our staff and partners.

Volunteers not only make a huge difference to those who are homeless and to the Society’s work, but they also gain so much themselves: learning new skills, work experience, boosting their confidence and making new friends.

The roles we offer our volunteers recognise and are designed to make use of their unique skills, talents and experiences.

2016/17 was a record year for getting volunteers involved in St Petroc’s work:

99 volunteers gave a staggering 6,247 hours of their time – an enormous thank you to each and every one of them!

Here are just some of the activities and skills that our volunteers provide….

  • Gardening
  • Photography
  • Baking and cooking
  • Facilitating art groups
  • Befriending and mentoring clients and residents
  • Supporting fundraising events
  • Sorting through donations
  • Support work
  • Facilitating theatre groups
  • Podiatry
  • Dentistry
  • General office and admin tasks

We actively recruit for specific volunteer roles from time to time. We will be recruiting again in late September so please check the website again then.
