St Petrocs is delighted to announce that the Garfield Weston Foundation has awarded a grant of £40,000 towards our work supporting people experiencing homelessness in Cornwall.

St Petrocs is an independent charity with no commissioned services.  Whilst some residential housing costs are paid for by the state, all support activities are funded by charitable means, either through grants such as this from charitable funds or through fundraising activities and donations. 

This generous grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation will enable us to continue to provide individually tailored services to our clients. We believe this is an investment in our approach to both service delivery but also, our ambition of ending homelessness in Cornwall, focussing in four key areas:

• Preventing homelessness
• Making the experience of homelessness short
• Making homelessness an exception
• Supporting people out of homelessness for good

Garfield Weston Foundation

Established over 60 years ago in 1958, the Garfield Weston Foundation is a family-founded, grant-making charity which supports causes across the UK and, in the most recent financial year, gave over £98 million. Since it was established, it has exceeded donations of more than £1.3 billion, of which well over half has been given in the past ten years.

One of the most respected charitable institutions in the UK, the Weston Family Trustees are descendants of the founder, and they take a highly active and hands-on approach.
