Justin Day grew up in Looe, East Cornwall and read Archaeology at UCL before qualifying as a Solicitor. He then became a partner in what is now Trowers & Hamlins before moving to Foot Anstey. Justin also sat as a deputy district judge on the western circuit sitting in the County Court where he dealt with a variety of cases including homelessness and housing disputes. He was also appointed Chair of a Social Security Appeal Tribunal by the Lord Chancellor.

A change of direction saw Justin return to university and qualify as a clinical audiologist working with the hearing impaired in Hampshire where he was invited to represent the NHS and present a paper at British Columbia University on collaborative working between professionals. He subsequently moved to the Chief Executive’s department at the University Southampton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust before taking up the post of Company Secretary and Commercial Legal Adviser at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

In 2012 Justin returned to Cornwall as Senior Legal Adviser at Cornwall Council where he worked on a joint venture between the Council, health colleagues and private industry. Following the completion of the joint venture he moved to the not for profit sector and took up the role of Legal Director and Company Secretary at Peninsula Community Health.

Justin joined the board of St Petrocs in 2014 and became an employee in January 2018.

Outside work Justin is a trustee of WAVE Multi Academy Trust and Cornwall Care. Justin is married with four children, two grandsons, a golden retriever and a new puppy.
