The participants all helped one another, pushed each other, cared for each other, encouraged each other and for themselves. This is what this project does best, to bring these individuals together with an activity like this.

St Petroc’s new Vocational Development Project facilitated one of it’s first trips for residents in our supported accommodation.

One of the project's objectives is to develop confidence, and this trip was certainly not for the faint hearted!

The participants visited the Granite Planet climbing centre in Penryn and were put through their paces by Jordan Rimmington of The Chalk Effect Climbing Project. He had some words for Ben Hawkes, manager of the VDP project afterwards.

“I am writing to say how much we appreciated you guys/gals coming today, it was hands down the best session we have had where everyone joined in. A massive thank you to the residents for doing unbelievably well. I usually get 2 or 3 good climbers out of a group, but every single one blew me away today, they all helped one another, pushed each other, cared for each other, encouraged each other and for themselves. This is what this project does best, to bring these individuals together with an activity like this, to climb and to help one another climb. The laughter and joy filled the room, and I was glad to be a part of it.”
