St Petrocs joined in with the Kings Coronation celebrations this weekend, taking the opportunity to join The Big Coronation Lunch, sharing food and conversation at our office and our Resource Centre in Truro, and joining in with over 65,000 other Big Lunches which took place around the UK.

The Big Lunch, is a simple idea from the Eden Project about sharing food and conversation, it connects people and encourages friendlier, safer neighbourhoods and communities where people start to share more – from conversations and ideas to skills and resources.

The St Petrocs hiking team even held an alfresco Coronation Big Lunch atop Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point while fundraisers gathered for their lunch during our Bodmin Lions Ten Tors fundraiser, with tea, sandwiches, and of course the bunting!

St Petrocs were invited to attend the Eden Project’s Coronation Big Lunch and see first-hand “Lighting up the Nation”, which was broadcast as part of the Coronation Concert on Sunday evening. Judith, our Director of Finance attended. "It felt very humbling to join so many people who do amazing work all over the County. We watched a live screening of the concert and enjoyed a lovely meal of chicken pie – the winning entry from the BBC One Show’s Coronation Dish competition. Many thanks to all at the Eden Project for putting on such a wonderful event to mark this memorable occasion."

Lisa, one of our team, represented St Petrocs at the Coronation Concert on Sunday at Windsor Castle. The Concert brought together global music icons and contemporary stars in celebration of the historic occasion. It is an honour that St Petrocs was included in the invitation for this event.

Lisa said ‘I felt very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend, it was an incredible day and great to be a part of, It’s hard to pick a top highlight it was all incredible but Take That really were brilliant!’

We hope you have all had lovely Coronation celebrations in your communities and enjoyed being a part of this historic occasion.
