Generous donation to support St Petrocs in Bloom

A big thank you to Rebecca, General Manager at Sainsbury’s Argos in Truro for a huge donation of over £1,000 worth of plants, tools, compost, and equipment to be used at our St Petrocs in Bloom events. Events are ongoing and running throughout our houses for our clients to support engagement and wellbeing.

Amanda, who works on our Vocational Development Programme, met Rebecca at our St Petrocs Business Breakfast and told Rebecca all about the programme. Rebecca had no hesitation to help provide donations for the In Bloom events, and after asking Amanda to create a wish list of items Rebecca went on to work with many of the other Sainsbury’s stores across Cornwall asking each of them to donate towards our event and the results far exceeded our expectations!

Rebecca even arranged delivery to one of our Newquay properties free of charge and the driver on the day, Tracey, came in to work on her day off to help deliver all of the gardening equipment.

We are incredibly grateful for this support, kindness, and generous donation. A big thank you to everyone involved.

'Tap for Penzance' Project launched to tackle homelessness this spring

‘Tap for Penzance’ is a partnership project between Safer Penzance, Penzance Business Improvement District and St Petrocs.
Preventing homelessness at St Petrocs

In 2023, we helped prevent 202 people from experiencing homelessness. Preventing homelessness requires our team to work with people who are at risk of experiencing homelessness, or those who are at risk of repeating their experience of homelessness in Cornwall.

On 26th March, we held our latest business event with an Easter twist, which was well attended by our business supporters and our residential clients.

Rick Stein’s has been a long term supporter of St Petrocs, and is now a valued business club member, and we were so grateful for their continued support last week, as they delivered delicious dinners to every one of our clients. Over 239 meals were served across 26 locations and everyone was so grateful to tuck into the nourishing food.
Coast Path Connectors take on Padstow

On 7th March, our clients and staff embraced the sunshine with a coastal walk around the Camel Estuary at Padstow. Thank you to the 21 walkers and their 6 dogs who joined us! Even a curious seal made an appearance!

Prince William unveils plans to tackle homelessness on Duchy of Cornwall Land.

Prince William and the Duchy of Cornwall have announced the estate’s first ever innovative housing project to help address homelessness in Nansledan, Newquay. The project will be delivered alongside Cornish charity, St Petrocs, and will provide 24 homes with wrap around support for local people experiencing homelessness.
Celebrating a Decade of Compassion at the Eden Project Sleepout

Last Thursday between the biomes at the Eden Project we joined together with the Amber Foundation and almost 100 supporters for the 10th anniversary of the Sleep Out.
'Journey to a home' Exhibition Success

Last week St Petrocs held a four-day art exhibition event at the Pydar Pop Up in Truro. The exhibition ‘Journey to a Home’ gave us the opportunity to celebrate the artistic talents of clients, staff, volunteers, and supporters.
