St Petrocs awarded funds from the Night Shelter Transformation Fund.

The Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) awarded us funds from the Night Shelter Transformation Fund. Homeless Link and Housing Justice provide wrap around support to grantees and it was great to host our lovely main contact for this programme, Rebecca, Grant Manager from Homeless Link, with a visit to our Truro Resource Centre to demonstrate in person what their funding enables us to achieve.

DLUHC has provided funding for this years’ (2022/23) winter service and have committed to provide funding to support us for the next 2 winters ahead as we transform our provision to help us in achieving our priorities through rapid rehousing for those facing a night outside in the winter months.

Grants are an essential source of income for St Petrocs and offer huge support to us by providing financial assistance. We are so grateful to DLUHC, Homeless Link and Housing Justice for the vital support through this programme, and extend our thanks to all our other funders who have enabled our work towards our ambition to end homelessness in Cornwall.

'Tap for Penzance' Project launched to tackle homelessness this spring

‘Tap for Penzance’ is a partnership project between Safer Penzance, Penzance Business Improvement District and St Petrocs.
Preventing homelessness at St Petrocs

In 2023, we helped prevent 202 people from experiencing homelessness. Preventing homelessness requires our team to work with people who are at risk of experiencing homelessness, or those who are at risk of repeating their experience of homelessness in Cornwall.
Creating connections and Easter eggs

On 26th March, we held our latest business event with an Easter twist, which was well attended by our business supporters and our residential clients.

Rick Stein’s has been a long term supporter of St Petrocs, and is now a valued business club member, and we were so grateful for their continued support last week, as they delivered delicious dinners to every one of our clients. Over 239 meals were served across 26 locations and everyone was so grateful to tuck into the nourishing food.
Coast Path Connectors take on Padstow

On 7th March, our clients and staff embraced the sunshine with a coastal walk around the Camel Estuary at Padstow. Thank you to the 21 walkers and their 6 dogs who joined us! Even a curious seal made an appearance!

Prince William unveils plans to tackle homelessness on Duchy of Cornwall Land.

Prince William and the Duchy of Cornwall have announced the estate’s first ever innovative housing project to help address homelessness in Nansledan, Newquay. The project will be delivered alongside Cornish charity, St Petrocs, and will provide 24 homes with wrap around support for local people experiencing homelessness.
Celebrating a Decade of Compassion at the Eden Project Sleepout

Last Thursday between the biomes at the Eden Project we joined together with the Amber Foundation and almost 100 supporters for the 10th anniversary of the Sleep Out.
'Journey to a home' Exhibition Success

Last week St Petrocs held a four-day art exhibition event at the Pydar Pop Up in Truro. The exhibition ‘Journey to a Home’ gave us the opportunity to celebrate the artistic talents of clients, staff, volunteers, and supporters.
