Francios Voges was born and raised in South Africa and served in the South African National Defense Force as a Section leader and Corporal in the Mechanised Infantry Unit. After that he joined the South African Police Force and studied the Criminal Procedure Act 1977 and Business Administration and Management at RSA College. He obtained the rank of sergeant and served in the Detective Branch of the Germiston Police.

In 2000 Francios emigrated with his young family to the UK, settling in Cornwall. He worked for the probation service as a manager at a bail and probation hostel for two and a half years before joining St Petrocs in 2003 as a supported accommodation manager. He has worked in several of St Petrocs services and completed a management level 4 qualification after becoming a Service Manager. Francios became Director of Residential Services in 2019.

Francios loves reading and has self-published a book. He likes riding his motorbike on warm sunny days. Francois was a keen rugby player in his earlier years and enjoys going to local games and watching rugby whenever possible. He is married to a wonderful wife with children, and a horse and two cats.
