St Petrocs was given a unique opportunity this year when the organisation was nominated as one of the Royal Cornwall Show’s charities of the year. We were provided a larger than normal stand, within which were able to display information about our work to end homelessness in Cornwall. We were also able to fundraise, and our small army of volunteers were out in force, in their yellow tabards, raising our profile, collecting and talking to the public!

The stand proved extremely popular with the public and provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with people who may not have known about homelessness in Cornwall or about St Petrocs. We asked everyone that visited the stand to pledge a way in which they could support the organisation and its clients over the coming year. We took pictures of everyone who made a pledge and pinned them to our board. We look forward to staying in touch and seeing how people get on!

We were visited by the president of the RCS, and also by The Lord Lieutenant and our patrons Lord and Lady St Levan, and we thank them for their ongoing support.  It was a wonderful few days and really helped the organisation raise the profile of its work. Thank you RCS, and thank you to all our volunteers. A special thank you also to Luke, our Vocational Development Programme Champion, who was able to give people he spoke to great insights into the efficacy of the programme.
