Sandra joined the team in September 2021 as the Volunteer Development Officer. She brings with her over 35 years of experience in the public, private and voluntary sectors. Most recently, she delivered a successful gardening and DIY project for Macmillan Cancer Support through Volunteer Cornwall.

Here at St Petrocs, Sandra leads the development, coordination, and promotion of all volunteering activity. “Working with volunteers is something that I've always enjoyed and feel that I can do well,” she writes. “Continuing to work with volunteers in an organisation that I admire and have a huge amount of respect for is the job of my dreams and I am thoroughly enjoying and embracing this opportunity.”

The culture here is very team orientated. There are no barriers in place between staff and the management team. Creativity and ideas are encouraged. I feel very well supported in my role.

Can you see yourself working here in five years’ time?

Yes, I can see my future with St Petrocs. The pay, benefits, and working conditions here are all very good, and there is plenty to do in my current role as well as opportunities to further myself within the organisation.

What would you say to someone who was considering applying to work with us?

It can be a daunting process starting a new position in an organisation. St Petrocs has made me feel very welcome and valued. I would highly recommend working for St Petrocs without hesitation. You will feel very supported and happy and be valued as part of the team in a very short time.
